That Dum Kanchanaburi Yasothon Sa Kaeo Khon Kaen Champasak, Laos | Prasat Muang Singh Prasat Muang Singh is located on the way to Burma in Kanchanaburi province and quite a distance from the other sanctuaries around Thailand. Muang Singh is said to have been built between the late 12th to the early 13th Century A.D. This was our second visit here. First time in 2003 and second time in 2008. We found that a lot of work had been done to make this an attractive site, which was kept clean and well maintained. A small museum to the side showed replicas and originals of the stones and the artefacts found here. There were also several shops selling local products during our second visit. We also followed the signs to the burial grounds to see the excavations of two skeletons buried here. The burial site also offers a nice view of the River Kwae Noi below. |
